Plans for TV Everywhere Bog Down in Tangled Pacts

It’s nice to see TV Everywhere (TVE) getting the Wall Street Journal’s attention! This article did a great job of laying out the history and obstacles of this rapidly-growing industry, so it’s worth a read:

Plans for 'TV Everywhere' Bog Down in Tangled Pacts by Sam Schechner and Shalini Ramachandran (3/5/12)

In my opinion, the authors could have touched on/expanded on a few topics, including:

  • Predictions on the future of TVE
  • The speed and manner in which companies are reacting and adjusting to how people love to consume and interact with video on new devices from smartphones to tablets to OTT STBs to gaming consoles
  • How cable is a multi-billion dollar industry that will not sit on the sidelines with antiquated 1st screen and VOD content
  • How quickly the TVE market is emerging and gaining speed. We will see plenty of reasons why TVE is tough. If it were easy, the market would be small and mature by now.

I’m always interested in hearing what others think about these topics. Send me your thoughts:
